Books |Where Happiness Lives & We Are Together

Where Happiness Lives

Written by Barry Timms & Illustrated by Greg Abbott

Where happiness lives

I love this book and the message it conveys to its young audience. Aimed at children aged 3-6years old it tells the story of three very different mice who live in three very different houses. It shows that bigger is not always better and that wealth does not always provide happiness. A story about appreciating what you have, the value of happiness and finding out what is important in life.
The illustrations really bring the story to life and the addition of flaps, foldouts and peek-through pages engage children even more. A really lovely book with an important message that will help prompt further conversation about the feeling of being envious and appreciating the things we have.

“Whatever your home,
it is happy indeed…
If you love what you have
and you have what you need.”

We Are Together

Written & Illustrated by Britta Teckentrup

Love, support and friendship are the themes running through this thoughtful and beautiful book. Again aimed at children 3-6years old this story coveys a strong sense of togetherness and that it is always better than isolation. With gentle rhyming text and a gradual widening cast of characters this is a lovely calm book to read at bedtime.

“Walking all together,
on paths as yet unknown,
May lead us to places
that feel just like home.”
