We’ve officially hit the Summer Holidays, which means keeping lots of little ones occupied. So today we’ve got 5 activities here to keep your little ones busy. I’ve based these 5 on easy to set up activities that will hopefully keep your little people happy for rather a while..
1. Wonderful Bubble Blower. All you need is a plastic bottle, and an old sock. Plus a pair of scissors, some fairy liquid and water, and a little bowl/plate. What to do: Remove the bottle lid, and use the scissors to snip of the end of the bottle. Stretch the sock over the open end of the bottle, leaving the neck of the bottle free to blow your bubbles. You may need to fold the sock back. Hey presto! You’ve got yourself a bubble blower. Now make up a small amount of bubble mixture with some washing up liquid and water. You’ll be blowing bubbles all afternoon… We made some fantastic bubble beards using our Wonderful Bubble Blower.
2. Mess Free Painting
An easy activity to keep babies entertained. This mess free painting is really easy to set up and best of all mess free. All you need is a large zip lock bag and some paint. Plus some sellotape, to secure the zip and attach it to a high chair/ window to allow your little one to enjoy the colours.
3. Extra fun in the Paddling Pool.
If you’ve still got your paddling pool up – add some play balls to it, just to make it more fun. Children love new things, and it might just keep the pool exciting. Who’d have thought we’d have such an amazing Summer in England?
4. Homemade Games
We’re trying to encourage some learning through play in ways in which the children don’t even realise. For example – making their own games. We printed a Snakes & Ladders Board – you could also easily draw one. And my little one was starting to write the numbers himself. We also drew the snakes and ladders on ourselves and played lots and lots of games! Use some small toys as counters and borrow a dice from another game. We’d also recommend laminating your ‘board’.
5. Tuff tray play
It seems we all need a Tuff Tray in our life.. they seem to be the in thing at the moment. (Off I pop to buy one)! We love this article from TTS here for ideas..
We also love Kinetic Sand – check out our “recipe” here.
