Out & About | Children’s Theatre this Christmas

It may only be November but Christmas is definitely beginning to steal the lime light, and we’re going to start sharing some of our Christmas posts. (Sorry, not Sorry)! We’ve actually decided it’s about organisation and for this one you have to been organised.. it’s time to book those Christmas theatre trips!

With this in mind, today we are sharing a round up of what’s on at the theatre for Children this Christmas…

The Snow Queen – The Polka Theatre, Wimbledon SW19 1SB

A magical, memorable adventure of friendship and self-discovery’. Dates running Friday 17 November – Sunday 4 February 2018. For children aged 5-11. Tickets cost £18.50, Concessions £12. More info here.

Albany Theatre – The Ugly Ducking, Deptford, SE8 4AG.

‘Moving through all four seasons, tutti futti and York Theatre Royal bring to life Hans Christian Andersen’s well known tale’. Dates running: Monday 4 to Sunday 31 December 2017. For children aged 3+. Tickets cost £12, £8 concessions, £34 family ticket. More info here.

The Christmasaurus, Eventim Apollo London, Hammersmith W6 9QH

Based on the book written by Tom Fletcher from McFly The Christmasaurus Live on Stage features eaturing music, animation, magic and some very special guests.
Dates running: Thursday 21 December to Thursday 28 December 2017 – some shows are already sold out. Tickets are from £29.50. For the family. Read more here.

Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Islington, EC1R 4TN

‘Matthew Bourne’s interpretation of the classic fairy tale, has, at its heart, a true war-time romance. A chance meeting results in a magical night for Cinderella and her dashing young RAF pilot, together just long enough to fall in love before being parted by the horrors of the Blitz’. Dates running – Friday, 22nd December 2017 to Saturday, 27th January 2018.Tickets cost from £12 for the cheapest tickets through to £69+. Children Under 5 will not be admitted. Santa’s Little Workshop, Little Angel Theatre, Islington N1 2DN

‘A Little Angel Theatre event and workshop, Seasonal fun for 3-9 year olds and their families Presented by Little Angel Theatre’, Dates running Friday 1st December – Sunday 24th December. Tickets cost: £12.50  Children (age 1-15), £10.50  Adults. Find out more here.

The Velveteen Rabbit – Unicorn Theatre, London Bridge, SE1 2HZ

The Velveteen Rabbit is a heart-warming story about a very shy toy rabbit who longs for nothing more than to become real. He spends his days waiting patiently on the nursery floor, watching the Boy play with other toys and dreaming of being picked up and loved. And then, one day, he is rediscovered and all his hopes start to come true…
Dates running  Friday 17 November – Sunday 31 December. Tickets for Under 18s cost £10 – £18, and adults: £16 – £24. A show for 5 + ( to adult). More info here.

BOING! (Who Can Sleep on Christmas Eve)? The Unicorn Theatre, London Bridge, SE1 2HZ

‘This piece of dance-theatre captures the delirious excitement of two boys waiting for Father Christmas to arrive on the most magical night of the year’. Dates running Wednesday 22 November – Sunday 31 December 2017. Tickets for Under 18s cost £12 – £14 and adults cost £12 – £20. This show is for children aged 2-6 years.
