Once in a while we come across a product and think, yes, that is a really good idea. This is one if them, another triumph from Usborne, small and compact and totally simple; it’s a great activity to take travelling or to pass the time when waiting to go from A to B.
Based on different themes of animals, flowers or objects in bright wonderful colours this book cleverly encourages you to decorate and finish each scene with simple shaped rubber stamps and sometimes a few anamations done by hand. The finish, is wonderfully fun.
It shows how simple shapes can create bigger pictures with many details, encourages children to use their imagination, yet use what is provided. As nannies, what we really notice is that this book strongly promotes fine motor skills, hand eye cooridation and concentration. It is such fun but requires concentration that I recently spent 45 minutes completing just two pages with my charge. A perfect way to spend part of the day together.
