I love going to the local library with my charges and I think it is a great way to encourage a love of books from a young age. We tend to go every couple of weeks and usually pick up 5/6 new books to read. Some of these books become absolute favourites and have to be purchased to become part of their home library. One of these particular books is The Koala Who Could.
About a koala who just can’t let go of his branch because everything is too fast, too loud, too big and too strange down below. Beautiful illustrations and a sweet story about stepping outside your comfort zone and being brave. Written by Rachel Bright and illustrated by Jim Field who also produced the brilliant book The Lion Inside.
A great one for children dealing with anxieties about changes going on in their life or nervousness about new things. It’s a wonderful, fun, joyful story to read and to share together.
