Kiddle allows for safer searching as they filter sites with explicit or deceptive content. When a child searches for something typically the first few results are safe sites written for children and handpicked and checked by the Kiddle editors.
The next lot of results are safe and trusted sites that may not have been written for children but have simple and clear information that children will understand. Again these are handpicked and checked by Kiddle editors.
The rest of the results will be safe and famous sites that are written for adults so the information provided maybe harder for children to understand. These have been filtered by Google safe search.
Most search results are illustrated with big thumbnails, which helps children to scan the results and are great visual clues for children to find what they are looking for. Kiddle uses a large Arial font which makes it easier for children to read.
Kiddle don’t collect any identifiable information and their logs are deleted every 24 hours.
We think this is such a great idea to help keep our children safe whilst online, whilst also making searching for information online an easier and quicker process for them.
