We maybe a little bit late to the party here but we’re very excited to hear about the discovery of a new Beatrix Potter book. The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots was found by publisher Jo Hanks two years ago in the V&A archive.
The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots is being published by Frederick Warne & Co with a release date of 1st September 2016, one hundred years after it was written! The good news is you can pre-order it, more details are here. It has already become a best seller!
The book will be illustrated by Quentin Blake (illustrations that a lot of children will be familiar with from the books of Roald Dahl). We are very intrigued see the new book once it’s released, and no doubt we’ll feature it in a book review.
2016 happens to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Beatrix Potter. She was born in London July 28th 1866! Beatrix Potter died in 1943 (aged 77). Isn’t it incredible, that lots of young children are familiar with books such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit 100 years after the books were written?
