Recipes | No Added Sugar*- Berry Jam


Don’t you just love jam? Stirred through warm rice pudding, porridge or semolina, spread thickly on toast, sandwiched between two sponge cakes…. Mmmm this is making me hungry!

Sometimes when you opt for the refined sugar free alternative you are left wanting your old sugar loaded version back stat, however this *no added refined sugar jam recipe is so delicious you won’t miss the old stuff. It’s also super quick to knock together that making a jar (or two!) a week won’t feel like a chore.



400g of your choice of berry (fresh or frozen)
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp honey, maple syrup or agave syrup

Place your choice of berry into a saucepan and add your choice of sweetener. Cook on a medium/low heat for 5 minutes, then squash your fruit with either a fork or a potato masher and then add the chia seeds and stir well.
Cook for a further two minutes then place in a jar or tupperware container. Leave the lid off until the jam is cool.
Place the lid on and put in the fridge. Below I served it with natural yogurt.FullSizeRender NEWpocketnanniessignaturev3
